Wow. That was disconcerting.

I dropped my keyboard and one of the alt keys got invisibly stuck.

It's very difficult to do anything with the alt key perpetually pressed. If all you're doing is clicking on things, the primary symptom is "my computer has suddenly gone mad!". Fortunately, once I tried typing something into Google it rapidly became clear that there was something wrong with the keyboard. All better now.

Heh. Something similar happened to me over the weekend. I'd tossed my keyboard aside, and it happened to wedge under something that pressed down the - key on the number keypad. So whenever I clicked on anything, weird stuff was happening. I also did not figure it out until I tried to type something and the text field immediately filled with -'s.
