It wasn't predictably unappealing; enough of the bizarro drinks I've gotten from there have been tasty that it's really hard to anticipate whether a new one will be good or not.
And Mr. Crankypants is just the closest icon I have to 'ew'. ;)
But it IS leaves! I'm glad someone likes those POM drinks, I keep trying but unless I add a LOT of sprit - eeesh. Maybe try it with some soylent green.
Ah, I should clarify that "POM" is our abbreviation for our local asian supermarket, Pacific Ocean Market. I do like some of the pomegranate juice drink from the brand with the same name, but they can be pretty strong.
Hola -- just dropped by to see your latest news. Glad to be back in touch after several years.
If you're looking for some more new and interesting foods to try, you might want to check out the AV Club Taste Tests (http://www.avclub.com/content/topics/Taste_Test) if you've not seen them! I think the Cheeseburger in Can is the strangest. Eeeww, just the thought of it makes me cringe...
I will check that out; looks interesting! There's also Steve, Don't Eat It! if you want to read about taste tests of truly distressing things that are theoretically "food".
