It's always nice when you think "surely I have had to solve this problem before," and you discover that lo, not only did past-you come up with a solution, present-you is able to both find that solution and re-use it without any retooling. Woot!

(Of course, I had to invoke some command-line grep juju to actually find the previous solution, and it didn't occur to me to even look for it until after I had googled up three other potential solutions that wouldn't work, but hey, it's still a net win!)
