This morning as I drove around the 287 onramp loop, I saw all the prarie dogs standing up on top of their mounds being vigilant. Kawaii! I would have taken a picture, but what with the driving and all, I figured it was better instead to not lose control and go tumbling off the road to fiery doom.

So in honor of the prarie dogs and today being the first day of April, I give you:

Some of My Favorite Collective Names for Various Critters

We have:
a coterie of prarie dogs
a shrewdness of apes
a tower of giraffes
a bask of crocodiles
a smack of jellyfish
an ambush of tigers

and, apparently, bears come in triads these days...
