I predicted one more serious cold snap this spring. Yesterday was warm enough to walk around in shorts; today it's cold and snowing.

I probably underestimated; it's only April, which means that we've still got two more months of spring. So I'll guess that we've got yet another cold spell coming before the end of May.

Hey there dr_tectonic. I don't think we know each other, but we both know Jofish, and I was curious about your name. Are you a geophysicist?

Arguably. I have my degree in geophysics, and I work at a lab that does lots of geophysics, but I mostly write code. =)

Hi there! I lived at tep, so we may well have a number of mutual friends or acquaintances besides just Jofish.

Ah! Then I probably met you at some point! I'm a pikan, although a few years older than Jofish. :) Where do you work?

I just started a PhD at Cambridge in Seismology, working on tectonics of the Middle East. dr_tectonic was irresistible to me. ;)

Nat'l Center for Atmospheric Rsch.

We overlapped for a year at MIT. I was a senior when you were a freshman. So quite possibly.
