Many thanks to you all for the well-wishes and kind words.
As I said, I won't be out there for the memorial service, but I am heading to Connecticut next week (Mon-Weds) to be with family. My plane leaves at 5:30 in the morning and I have a 3-hour layover in St. Louis. Ghuh!
The trees are turning. This evening when I left work it was one of my favorite nature views: direct sunlight on yellow leaves against a deep, dark, blue-purple-gray sky. I wanted to take a picture, but had left my camera at home.

Date: 2006-10-04 03:35 pm (UTC)I must say, and have been meaning to blog about it, but, this has been an exceptionally lovely fall, lasting longer than usual, which also means a wider range of colors. I am stunned by the numbers of normal streetscapes I travel which have been transformed into postcards. The colors are sometimes so painfully vibrant that I can only stand there in wide-eyed incredulity.
