Many thanks to you all for the well-wishes and kind words.

As I said, I won't be out there for the memorial service, but I am heading to Connecticut next week (Mon-Weds) to be with family. My plane leaves at 5:30 in the morning and I have a 3-hour layover in St. Louis. Ghuh!

The trees are turning. This evening when I left work it was one of my favorite nature views: direct sunlight on yellow leaves against a deep, dark, blue-purple-gray sky. I wanted to take a picture, but had left my camera at home.

You have a point in all this, especially since the Richmond-Philly corridor is basically in the doldrums. I remember the sky in Boston being more interesting than here in DC.

We do get really wonderful skies when a tropical system passes through the mountains, or off the coast. Other than that, interesting mosty isn't here, at least as skies go.
