I just got back from the grocery store, where I bought, among other things, a new toothbrush.

This is noteworthy because I bought a brand-new toothbrush on the morning that I left for Washington D.C., exactly three weeks ago. In just three weeks of normal use, it has become the worst-worn toothbrush I have ever seen. The bristles are scraggly and smashed. The blue bristles don't fade to indicate wear, they just mimic other toothbrushes. Even the rubber grip is starting to come apart.

It's an off-brand (generic from Target) toothbrush, which implies that, perhaps surprisingly, name-brandedness actually matters for toothbrushes!

Ghostwalk yesterday evening was good. Problem-solving in a D&D universe is always a little bit weird because the magic system lets you do some fairly ridiculous things -- our first two ideas for how to house several hundred refugees were to (a) hire a wizard to cast Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion every day and put them in extra-dimensional hotels, and (b) kill all the refugees and resurrect them after the war is over and things are safe again. Both ideas turned out to be economically impractical, and the latter was probably, um, evil, but that didn't keep us from debating it...

My Mom came by this morning and dropped off some salmon on her way from Radium to Nebraska. Helped monkey with laundry this morning and played some Katamari Damacy and Pikmin 2.

Other than that, my weekend has mostly been about napping and feeling uncomfortable because my neck and upper back have been obnoxiously stiff and sore. I have no idea what brought it on, but I want to say that if I have meningitis or something equally exciting, I will be highly inconvenienced. You hear that, neck?

I'm reminded of a campaign years ago where we were trying to figure out how many ounces of lost blood and meat a Heal Serious Wounds spell would restore... we were lost and hungry and couldn't Create Food for some reason I now forget. The DM was so squicked he offered to let us find food if we'd just never bring up the idea again.

You know, between you two you could use a masseur on call. I'd volunteer, but there's this distance thing and a border in the way....

Hm... I'm beginning to think that he did not hit just the bed table... ;-)
