So a number of people are in the throes of quitting smoking ([livejournal.com profile] saintpookie, [livejournal.com profile] themonkeybear), and I just have to say that I'm really REALLY glad I have never had to do that, because I don't know that I'd be able to pull it off.

Go y'all soon-to-be-nonsmokers! I'm impressed, and I wish you well.

I'm sure there are some interesting things to be said about what I did over the last few days, but it's late and I can't think of them right now.

Maybe tomorrow.

If you're good.

One more

Add to that my father, a lifelong smoker, just out of the hospital following a quadruple bypass; which follows a hospital visit recovering from a heart attack that left him clinically dead for four minutes, comatose for three days, amnesiac for a week, and in therapy for two more weeks.

I mention him mainly to encourage the other addicts in their difficult venture. He's back to normal, but he'll be better than normal when he quits.

Good for him! I'm glad to hear that. So he's fully recovered, then?

Me? Good? Dream on.

I'm glad I never took up smoking either. My mom quit 40+ years ago
and loathes the smell, but still gets a craving once in a while. I don't
ever wanna go through that!
