[livejournal.com profile] kung_fu_monkey is safely in Oregon. Hooray! Apparently he got to sit in the airport for three hours this morning while they did things to the airplane. SUCK!

Speaking of suck, they are installing new OS on my computer tomorrow, so I'm sitting here waiting for it to finish backing up data to my machine at home. And it is taking f o r e v e r. In part because I didn't do a good enough job cleaning up all the files I don't actually need backups of, but that I copied here because it would be convenient to have a local copy. Argh.

Glad to hear he made it safely. :)

Hmm...packrating information now?

Oh, I've always packratted information.
But they're going to repartition the drive, and I want to keep my data...

What's this? Have we discovered Dr. Tectonics weakness? If we destroy his information stores, he's helpless!!

Eh well, guess information isn't quite at cluttering as other things...

You did see the library and the shelves in the office, yes?
Or his magazine stacks?
Do you know how many gigs of email he has saved up?

Seriously, if we burned and erased all of this stuff, I really believe he would stop existing.

Books aren't clutter. :) They could be useful someday....
Now the magazine stacks I don't believe I saw....
I am almost afraid to know how much email he has saved if it requires gigs of memory...

It's only three-quarters of a gig. A bit less than 30,000 messages.

Dude. Don't even joke about that. It might be true.

Saving email is a totally wonderful thing. My records go back to 1997. This has saved my ass so many times!

(Stacks of magazines are hopeless, though...)

Exactly. You want to talk about clutter, my dad hoards food and my grandfather hoarded building materials! At least I contain the packrat gene to small and flat things.

Hrmm...true it is less space taking...

I wonder if it is healthy encouraging you though...

He's always hoarded information. He has email from his days at MIT. It's just distressing.

Physically safe, mentally scarred. 3 hour delay, 2 and 1/2 hour flight, and a 2 hour drive here. Gah!!

And I forgot that my stepdad listens to conservative talk radio. That last two hours just hurt muchly.

2 hours of talk radio alone with drive me wiggy, let alone 2 hours of conservative talk radio. I'm afraid that would have made me a touch homicidal...

I just posted about it.
