Glad to see you posting sort of... I've been reading up on Bayseian filtering methods. I'd like to say it makes complete sense, but still prouid to say I mostly understand what I am reading...

Hey, wanna start a community blog at all? not necessarily a LJ community something along the lines of MeFi but more tailored to the people we know (a website for interesting things and in-jokes)

dunno. Bored. at work. still bored. oh look something shiny.

oh wait, nope. just flashy boredom.

look a monkey!

Hmmm, I dunno. A website for interesting things and in-jokes would be cool. The tricky bit is, though, that "interesting" is terribly subjective. About 90% of the stuff I saw on Metafilter's front page looked like "stupid crap" to me. (Though I admit, maybe I was cranky from low blood-sugar when I looked.) Heck, sometimes I think that my interests are boring.

So I think the idea is very interesting, but we'd need a good way to filter by user, or something like that.

Actually, what I really want is for everyone I know to blog about interesting things, so that I never get anything done.

Yes I concur... that's why we only let people we know have access to it. Strangers be damned! Metafilter has a tendency to groan and stain under the immense of weight of it's many users... with diverse (and by diverse I mean wrong) definitions of interesting.
