Anyone feeling cynical about VD should go and find themselves a copy of The Onion to read. Several amusing articles this week. I especially like Point-Counterpoint: Cosmology -- "Darling, I Will Give You The Moon And The Stars" / "Giving Me The Moon And Stars Would Have Disastrous Effects On Our Galaxy". For best effect, read counter-point to yourself in the voice of Sarah Vowell.

Date: 2005-02-16 09:36 am (UTC)Of course, I didn't really have too much time to be cynical about VD this year. (the only cynicism bubbling up in my use of the pet name "VD", which I always find quite funny.) It was nice to not really notice the day at all.
