This evening I went and hung out with Keith & Ellen for Wednesday Gathering. That's right, my good friend, Famous Game Designer™ Keith Baker! Ooo! (Jealous now? ;-)

Played a couple (very short!) games of Mag-Blast and some Star Control 2 on the 3DO. We determined that Mag-Blast is better with a hand of 7 cards than one of 5, and playing circular (attack left) is better than free-for-all, but we probably need a mulligan rule to make sure everyone's fleets start out within 5 points of one another.

Also got to hear Keith's amusing stories about gaming cons and being almost kinda halfway famous. There was very yummy cake for Rob's birthday, and I got to see Trevor (flwyd), too.

Oh, and Ellen has a blog, too! At http://www.bossythecow.com.

She said I should write about why I don't have a cellphone, which I will attempt to do... but not tonight. Because sleep beckons.

I actually have quite enjoyed Ellen's blog. She's correct, write about non-cellness. You have my full support.

Keith invited me to bring my Buffy game over some Wednesday, which is kinda cool, and we had a brief, but strangely efficient and useful discussion of Buffy games, in general at ng_nighthawk's. I'm thinking as soon as the play's over, and I have finished the redesign, then, off to the Baker-y. It's been far too long since I visited.

What, they say, doesn't that defeat the purpose?

No, I reply, for the few calls I do get are important (as in family :) ), and so I want them wherever I am. Actually, it just seemed silly to have a land line when Rob already has a cell phone for his job, so there...
