Finally at the end of a very long week. Had a going-away lunch for Jerry with all his library colleagues at Pho 120 today. They got him a super-nifty Japanese translation gadget. Got CDs burned with the latest version of our game (and finished that latest version) for my boss to take to somebody he's visiting on a trip. Hung out with Joneses and their new cat, Havok, this evening. Nick made tasty french onion soup.

Oh, and the other earpiece broke off my glasses. The first one broke a while ago, but the optician hacked me a fix. Hope he can do it again...

Japanese translation gadget?

May it work better than some of the programmes and gizmos I've seen -- pretty much ANY topic:explanation based language is bad for automatic translation into/from English. ^^;;;

Oh, it's mostly an electronic dictionary; it's just a nice one that has a big (and accurate) vocabulary, knows some slang and idiomatic phrases, and so on.

What other topic-prominent languages are there? Japanese is the only one I've ever heard about, but there must be others, right?

BTW-- speaking of idiomatic, what does "^^;;;" mean?

Ah. I misscanned that sentence. It's a super-nifty gadget for translating things into and from Japanese. Not a super-nifty gadget made in Japan for doing translation.
