Jerry bought this catchy little J-Pop album that I have borrowed and been listening to. It's a lot of fun, but Japanese song lyrics are very strange.

I think that the only thing worse than being earwormed by a song in a foreign language with lyrics you don't understand is being earwormed by one where you can understand HALF the lyrics, and they make no sense at all.

Currently running through my brain:

Strawberry sex -- it's a wonderful world
somethin' somethin' somethin' somethin' somethin' 1 - 2 - 3

Strawberry sex -- it's a wonderful world
blah blah blah, blah blah blah ga doki doki, baby

love love love love love
etc.

omg! was it 'jpop cd'? that has the songs used in different anime shows?

i just got that cd and i love it.

in fact, 'step to the new world' by soulhead was my song of the day a few days ago.

Yup, that's the one. While I'm not a fan of the Strawberry Sex song, the theme from Gravitation (track 8) seems to be playing constantly in my mental playlist.

yeah. that's one of my favorites on the cd.

if you go to the website for the disc, they have the (somewhat badly) translated lyrics to the songs.

i'm grooving on 'rainy days never stays,' too (grammatical problems with the title notwithstanding). :)

So...you are listening to the album "LIFE is..." by Ken Hirai. Right?

Actually, it's a compilation album named "Jpop CD"; it just has the one song. But it is Ken Hirai!

So can you tell me what the lyrics are generally about? Is it anything more "hey baby, I love you, strawberry sex" or something like that?

I have SO been there with earworms like this! Once my husband got a CD (no clue what it was) that had a song that had the words "Burning love" in the chorus. Of course, I interpreted as:

Body glove, body glove, do-do-do do-do.
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blaaaaaah.

And sang it. A lot. He doesn't play that CD for me any more...
