I managed to splatter my bare belly with hot oil while frying fishcakes this evening. Owchie! Jerry pointed out that I should have been wearing a shirt while frying, which is absolutely true. But the kitchen was HOT...

We had a pretty serious thunderstorm this evening. As I drove home, I pointed my camera out the window and took a bunch of pictures of it. I didn't take my eyes off the road, just aimed it in the general direction of interesting-looking clouds, and most of them turned out really well! Neat!

I ran about a dozen errands on the way to work, but I managed to figure out what to do with the synergistic turn-3 scenario components while I was doing them, so I was effectively on the clock most of the time. Yay for being a knowledge worker.

Ouch, that sounds painful. Luckily, I have not done that yet. I hope that you weren't scarred or burned too badly. hugs

Nah, it's just a couple spots that sting a little; not even any blisters. Thanks for the well-wishes, though!

I've spattered my nude torso with oil a few times when deep-frying. [Actually, I've fried things in the nude a few times, and spattered oil on my thighs, which is why I've stopped frying in the nude; there are a few things in this world that are clear, unambiguous warnings.] I don't think it's ever really hurt me, either. Someday, I'm sure it will...

Ouch!

This is what apron's are for. So that you can dance around the kitchen cooking naked and staying cool and still not get burned.

I have to say that the "getting things done" while not "working" thing is definitely the best part of being in a job measured by productive mental output. I think I figured out my entire thesis on bicycle rides... ah, those were the days...

Yeah, frying without clothes is a bad idea.
It's one reason I don't do much frying.

Definitely a proponent of the apron approach...

Post some pictures (of the thunderstorm, that is.)

Mmm. Thunderstorms. Does Colorado get decent monsoons?

Oh, yes. Come August, you can almost set your watch by what time the thunderstorms roll into the foothills each afternoon.

We're all in agreement about the apron. I have one in a nice, masculine blue that I wear while washing dishes to keep the bleach off me. No oil frying here.

Pictures of the thunderstorm would be nice. Pictures of any of you three in just an apron would not be turned down, either. ;-)

Reminds me of that old saw stating that bacon is best cooked naked. That way, your temptation to turn up the heat and have it done sooner (and worse) is balanced by your aversion to hot grease splatter.
