So my Dad passed away this morning. Apparently, he was on a business trip in Ohio and had a heart attack at breakfast and died.

Which sucks. We didn't always get along fantastically, but I love him.

So I'm sad, and I'm probably be sad for a while. I expect that we'll also have some depression, mourning, grief-stricken, and meleancholy to go with the just plain sad over the next few days.

I'm doing okay. Well, except when I get Annie Lennox's "The Saddest Song I've Got" stuck in my head.

Now I'm heading off to be with my step-mom and siblings on that side for a while. If I'm not online for a bit, see my post of a week ago when a college friend died.

*sigh* This whole 'death' thing, I think it was a bad idea.

Wow. :/

Everything sounds trite at times like this.

I hate not having anything better than "I'm so sorry" to offer. But... I'm so sorry.

*BIG BEAR HUG from someone you don't really know*

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

My dad and I were not close at all -- of the 21 years he was in my life, I hold one single good memory of him -- but when he died suddenly of cancer no one knew he had, it kinda screwed me up a bit. I think I'm still dealing with some of those emotions 4 years later.

As you know, it won't be an easy time. But remember to cherish the good times you shared. And most importantly, remember to take time out to breath from time to time.

Man, Beemer, that's terrible. I'm so sorry. We'll keep your dad in our thoughts, and let the boys know that if they need anything (you, too) while you are gone they can give us a call.

Ouch. Beemer, I'm so sorry. When my dad had his heart attack, I dreaded the idea that he might just be gone without me getting another minute to be with him and speak to him. The suddenness of this sounds just awful. I hope your family finds comfort in your memory of him and in each other. The Floyd Family will be thinking about you and praying for you. Let us know if there's anything we can do... Meals for a hectic week, drive anyone around, or just an unwind session.

Beemer, I'm so sorry. Please accept both my sympathy and my offer of any assistance I can provide. My immediate impulse is to send books, or to bake a casserole. Please let me know if you or the guys need anything. Broomfield is not too far away.
